Why am I running for Ray County Clerk?

One question I’ve been asked a lot lately is, “Why are you running for Ray County Clerk?”

The answer is honestly pretty simple — I love this community, and I truly love my job.

Ray County has always been home to me. I’m a lifelong resident, a Richmond High School graduate, and someone raised to believe in kindness, hard work, respect, and helping others whenever I can.

Growing up, I spent many years playing competitive softball and playing third base for the Richmond Spartans until a shoulder injury ended my time on the field. Sports taught me so much about teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, and showing up for others — lessons that still shape who I am today.

When I learned my boss would not be seeking re-election, I felt it was the right time for me to step up and continue serving Ray County in a bigger way. Working in the Clerk’s Office and serving as Election Clerk has given me firsthand experience and a deeper understanding of the many responsibilities this office handles behind the scenes every day.

I believe we can continue honoring the past while leading into the future by protecting the integrity and traditions of the Clerk’s Office while also improving efficiency, communication, and accessibility for the people we serve.

More than anything, I want people to feel welcome when they walk into the Clerk’s Office. I want them to feel comfortable asking questions, seeking help, and knowing they will be treated with professionalism, kindness, and respect.

This position is much more than just a job to me, and it would never be a part-time commitment. If elected, I will dedicate myself fully to serving this office and the citizens of Ray County every single day.

I’m running because I care deeply about this community and truly believe in giving back to the place we all call home.
