Why I’m running for Ray County Clerk

One question I’ve been asked a lot lately is, “Why are you running for Ray County Clerk?”

The answer is simple — I love my job, and I truly love serving the people who call Ray County home.

Ray County has always been home to me. I’m a lifelong resident, a Richmond High School graduate, and someone who was raised with values that still guide me today — work hard, treat people with kindness and respect, and always give back where I can.

 As I looked toward the future of the Clerk’s Office, I felt this was the right time to step forward and continue serving Ray County in a greater way.  Through my time working in the Clerk’s Office and serving as Election Clerk, I’ve gained firsthand experience and a deep appreciation for the work this office does every day to support our county and serve our citizens.

I believe in honoring the strong foundation that has already been built while continuing to move forward — finding ways to improve efficiency, communication, and accessibility without losing the personal, hometown service people expect and deserve.

More than anything, I want people to feel welcome when they walk into the Clerk’s Office. I want every person to know they can ask questions, seek help, and be treated with professionalism, kindness, and respect.

This position is much more than a job to me — it’s a commitment to this community and to serving the people of Ray County well each and every day.

I’m running because I care deeply about our county, believe in public service, and want to continue giving back to the place that has given so much to me.
